Izskrien Rīgu 2026 Running Series Rules
1 General provisions
1.1. The competition is held with the aim of popularizing a healthy lifestyle for the residents of Riga.
1.2. The task of the competition is to involve the residents of Riga in physical activities and encourage them to focus on a healthier way of life.
1.3. Different distances are offered in the competition for different target audiences – starting from children’s distance for the smallest, Health Run – for beginners and supporters of a healthy lifestyle, 5 km for young people and active runners, up to 10 km distance for runners who want to set their best results.
1.4. The competition is organized by the “Adventure Racing Association” (registration number 40008154479) in cooperation with SIA “X Events” (registration number 40203038446) and the Latvian Athletics Association. The event is co-financed with the funds of the state budget and the support of the Riga City Municipality. 1.5. All the organizers’ information about the competition, which is binding on the participants, is published on the official website www.izskrienrigu.lv.
1.6. When applying for the competition, all participants confirm that they do not object to the use of photos taken during the competition for marketing and advertising activities of the competition.
1.7. The organizers reserve the right to make changes in the rules, informing the competition participants about them on the competition website. The organizers are not responsible for ignorance of the regulations.
1.8. The panel of judges, together with the organizers, has the right to decide issues that are not mentioned in the rules of the competition.
1.9. By registering on the website and then participating in the competition, the participant undertakes to comply with these regulations.
1.10. Protection of personal data: When applying for the competition, the participants agree to the processing of their personal data (name, surname, year of birth, gender) for the purposes of organizing the competition, recording the results and publishing them on the website
2 Course, time and place of the competition
2.1. The event takes place on Thursdays in the city of Riga:
Stage 1 – June 4, Uzvaras parks
Stage 2 – June 25, new venue – Mežaparks Great Meadow
Stage 3 – July 16, new venue – Biķernieki Circuit
Stage 4 – July 30, Lucavsala
Stage 5 – August 20, Māras dīķis – season finale and awards
3 Program of the event
* The competition program may be changed, so please follow the stage information, where the program may be specified.

4 Responsibility of participants
4.1. When registering for the competition and going to the distance, each participant assumes full responsibility for the compliance of his health to perform the selected distance, as well as assumes full responsibility for possible injuries or health disorders during the competition. The person’s parents or guardians are responsible for the health condition of a minor participant.
4.2. The organizers of the competition recommend that every participant of the distance consult with his treating doctor or family doctor about his health condition before completing the relevant distance.
4.3. By filling out the registration form on the website and participating in the competition, the participant confirms that he is familiar with these regulations and assumes full responsibility for his health and possible injuries during the distance.
4.4. The organizers of the competition ensure the availability of first aid at the place and time of the competition. Assistance is provided by a certified medical person or a team located in the event centre.
5 Race distances and age groups
5.1. The following distances and age groups are offered to the participants of the competition (by age in the year of the competition):
5.1.1. 10 kilometre distance (6 laps):
- S10, V10 – until 1977 born
- SS10, VS10 – 1976 born and parents
5.1.2. 5 kilometre distance (3 laps):
- SJ5, VJ5 – 2008 born and younger
- SP5, VP5 – 2007-1977 g. born
- SS5, VS5 – 1976 born and parents
5.1.3. 1 kilometre distance (1 lap):
To run in this group, you need to register for the 5 km distance. For runners in these groups, the result is fixed in two tests:
- result – 1 km distance, which is fixed in the first circle;
- 5 km result, recorded at the 5 km finish in accordance with Rule 5.1.2.
- VU14, SU14 – young women and men, born in 2014 and 2013
- VU16, SU16 – young women and men, born in 2012 and 2011
5.1.4. 5.1.4. around 300-600 meters race for children’s age groups (U4-U12):
- SU4, VU4 – girls and boys, born in 2023 and younger: around 300 m
- SU6, VU6 – girls and boys, born in 2022 and 2021: around 300 m
- SU8, VU8 – girls and boys, born in 2020 and 2019: around 600 m
- SU10, VU10 – girls and boys, born in 2018 and 2017: around 600 m
- SU12, VU12 – girls and boys, born in 2016 and 2015: around 600 m
5.1.5. Health Run with 30 minutes time limit:
- SV, VV – without age limit.
5.2. Distance lengths are approximate and may vary depending on the venue. The approximate lengths of the distances are indicated in the stage information and the distance plan on the event website.
5.3. Participants can register for all race distances without age restrictions, but the children’s race is intended for children up to 12 years of age.
6 Registration and participation fee
6.1. You can apply for the event and pay for the participation on the website izskrienrigu.lv.
6.2. We are relieved registration process – you need to apply only once on all stages. If the number is forgotten on the day of the race, it can be purchased again in the registration tent according to the fee specified in the Regulations.
6.3. When registering, you can pay the participation fee using a payment card.
6.4. The participant’s number is issued at the stage where the participant arrives for the competition. The number will be available at the registration tent. For participants the number is assigned for the whole season for a certain distance, which must be saved and carried with you to all stages of the series. If the participant wants to run a different distance, the registration must be done again. Along with the number, a storage tag is issued in the envelope, which must be kept and used at all stages of the season. Items can only be transferred to the storage room with this tag.
6.5. The entry fee is per participant for all remaining stages of the season.

6.6. Additional services
Participants have the option to purchase a personalized bib number with their name and use the photo search option by bib number. Additional charge:
- For young people and adults: 10 EUR (children – 5 EUR) for the whole season for personalized starting number and picture search. The personalized number can be obtained by applying for the series by for May 28. After that, you can only purchase the image search service.
- Change of start number (lost or forgotten start number) – 5 EUR.
- Renewal of the storage tag (in case of loss) – 2 EUR
6.7. When applying on site at the event centre, it is possible to purchase only the image search service on the website, without the possibility of receiving a personalized start number.
6.8. The photo search function uses Google Cloud Vision API artificial intelligence (AI) technology that automatically recognizes race numbers in captured images. Since the search is based on automated image analysis, the organizers cannot guarantee 100% accuracy and the finding of all photos of the participant due to independent technical reasons (for example, incomplete visibility angle of the number, shadows on the track, lighting, folding of the number or obscuration of other participants). Failure to find images due to technical reasons cannot be grounds for returning the paid service fee.
6.9. The number of found pictures initially displayed by the system before paying for the service is only informative. Due to the specifics of artificial intelligence (AI) operation and the technical reasons mentioned in the previous point (6.8), numbers may be recognized incorrectly. The fee for using the photo search service is not refunded in any case, including situations where before payment the system showed found photos, but after activating the service and data processing photos with the specific member or number are not actually found in the system.
6.10. Registered participants can change their personal data independently. To do this, the member must log in to his user profile on the home page izskrienrigu.lv, select the “My data” section.
6.11. Upon receiving the starting number, the participant must confirm participation in the competition by signing the competition protocol.
6.12. In case of lost start number, the personalized name is not restored.
6.13. The member number is also a timing chip. While on the course, the number must be attached to the participant in a visible place on the front. The participant’s number must be attached in full size, without folding its edges, because folding the edges of the number can affect the reading of the results of the timing chip.
6.14. When coming to the competition again, the participant’s number must be taken with him. The number may not be transferred to another person. Transferring the number to another person may result in disqualification and annulment of results. A fee is applicable for the loss of a number or the issuance of a new number.
6.15. Registration of new participants ends 15 minutes before the start. Up to 50 new entries are available on race day.
6.17. When registering at the competition venue, the participant can pay the participation fee only with a bank payment card.
6.18. Luggage storage is available at the event centre. Items are accepted for storage only with the official competition tag (issued at registration) with the participant’s number on it. Handing out of belongings takes place upon presentation of the corresponding starting number of the participant. The tag is made of tear-resistant, water-resistant material and is designed for use throughout the season.
6.19. A special table for participants’ personal drinks will be provided on the track (up to 200 m away from the start and in the visibility area of the event centre). Runners will be able to place their branded drinks there and have a drink during the distance.
7 Results and awarding
7.1. After the event, the fixed time of the participant can be viewed on the homepage www.izskrienrigu.lv.
7.2. Each participant of Children’s, 10 km, 5 km, 1 km or Health Run participating at least in 4 stages out of 5 will receive a season commemorative award for participation – medal or souvenir with the symbolism of the competition. The participant indicates his choice on the registration page.
If all medals or commemorative awards are issued, the organizers reserve the right to replace them with one another. We do not guarantee that everyone will receive the desired prize, as their number is limited. Awards will be presented at the final stage of the series. They will be available at the registration tent throughout the duration of the event until its conclusion.
7.3. At each stage, the 1st-3rd places of the 5 km and 10 km distances are awarded with diplomas and prizes. place winners within each group. If the participant does not show up for the awards, the awards will not be issued afterwards.
7.4. In each stage of 1 km, 5 km and 10 km participants receive points within the distance. The winner wins 1000 points, the result of each subsequent participant is calculated according to the following formula – the winner’s time is divided by the time shown by each participant and multiplied by 1000.
7.5. The overall winners of the series are determined by taking into account the best 4 stage results in each of the 1 km, 5 km and 10 km distances. The total score will be determined by summing the points obtained within one distance. In case of an equal result, the higher place is taken by the participant who got a higher place in the last stage of the series.
7.6. Prizes are awarded to the 1st-3rd places in the 1 km, 5 km and 10 km distances. place winners within each age group.
8 Rating of family teams
8.1. In order to participate in the family team assessment, participants must have:
- Directly related from the same family (in any form, including guardianship, etc.). The award must be able to prove it. For example, a cousin or niece will not create Family Distance.
- For the same command name specified.
- The result of the family team is made up of three participants: two participants in the 5 km and/or 10 km distances and one participant in the children’s distance. For example: both parents run the 5 km distance and the child runs the children’s distance, or one parent runs the 10 km distance, one child runs the 5 km distance and the other child runs the children’s distance.
- The participants included in the family team’s overall standings cannot participate in the sports teams/clubs’ and sports school’s overall standings.
- In order for the family team to be included in the results and to be eligible for prizes in the evaluation, the team captain must create a team and add its members in his member profile, in the “Teams” section, no later than July 31 (including). After this date, the creation of new teams and any changes to team compositions will no longer be possible.
8.2. The result of the family stage is created by adding the points of the two best team members from the 5 km and/or 10 km distances. Participant of the children’s distance is a mandatory condition for team registration, but points are not given to the team result.
8.3. The overall family team winners are determined by taking into account the best four stage results. In case of an equal result, the team with the most points in the last stage of the series takes the higher place.
8.4. In the overall ranking, 1st-3rd places are awarded with an honorary pretzel. place winners.
9 Evaluation of sports teams/clubs and sports schools
9.1. To participate in the team evaluation:
- at least 3 members must have the same team name:
- must be represented in the 5 km and 10 km distances.
- Participants included in the overall ranking of sports teams/clubs and sports schools cannot participate in the overall ranking of the Family team.
- In order for the team of sports teams/clubs and sports schools to be included in the results and to claim prizes in the evaluation, the team captain must create a team and add its members in his member profile, in the “Teams” section, no later than July 31 (including). After this date, the creation of new teams and any changes to team compositions will no longer be possible.
9.2. The results of the team stage will be formed by taking the results (points) of the three best team members from the respective distance and adding them up.
9.3. The winners of the overall team standings are determined by taking into account the best four stage results. In case of an equal result, the team with the most points in the last stage of the series takes the higher place.
9.4. In the overall ranking, 1st-3rd places are awarded with an honorary pretzel. place winners.
10 Procedure for processing protests
10.1. Complaints about the results of the competition or violations of the regulations must be submitted in writing to the main judge of the competition no later than 30 minutes after the publication of the preliminary results of the specific distance in the event centre.
10.2. After examining the protest, the panel of judges together with the organizers makes the final decision. The fee for submitting a protest is 20 EUR, which is refunded if the protest is satisfied.
11 Anti-doping rules
11.1. The competition takes place in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and Latvian Anti-Doping Regulations.
11.2. It is the participant’s responsibility not to use prohibited substances and methods.
11.3. Any participant may be subject to doping control by the Anti-Doping Office of Latvia. Refusing it or falsifying the results is punishable.
